*disclaimer: not actually a review of anything.
i went to see my first London West End production this week. Kenneth Branagh, majorly talented actor of "Hamlet" and "Much Ado about Nothing" fame, starred as the title character in Tom Stoppard's version of Anton Chekov's heavy drama, "Ivanov."
i fell asleep in act two. but not out of boredom or disgust! i was tired. however, i don't recommend seeing this if you're depressed, 'cause the play is essentially about a 40-something man with a dying wife going through a midlife crisis (the man, not his wife). after four acts of moping around and flirting with his best friend's 20-year old daughter, he kills himself.
but really, beautifully acted.
hopefully next time, i'll stay awake through the whole thing.
